The person believed to be Britain's youngest sex-change patient -- born Elizabeth, now Alex -- has received the green light for a female-to-male procedure.

Alex has been openly gay since age 15 and lived as a boy for the past year, including flattening his breasts. Now he plans to undergo a double-mastectomy and a hysterectomy.
