Some lenders are really sharpening their pencils when it comes to mortgages. Fresh off of a spanking due to the EZ money era, banks, credit unions, etc. are twice shy about giving people too much rope to hang themselves with (sorry). This time around, they (lenders) are very concerned about dips in income, even if temporary, and have made pregnant couples jump through extra hoops to get their little slice of heaven.
The Late, Late Show host Craig Ferguson took to Twitter this week to announce the news that his wife of 2 years, Megan, was pregnant with their first child: "Holy crackers! Mrs F is pregnant. How did that happen? Oh yeah I know how. Another Ferguson arrives in 2011. The world trembles," he wrote.
Camila Alves already has two kids with man-boy partner Matthew McConaughey, but after being spotted covering up her belly and wearing loose clothes for the past few weeks, is the mother of Levi, 2, and Vida, 6 months, already pregnant again for a third time? If so, it looks like the Alves-McConaughey family is trying to give Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's brood a run for their money, in terms of size. (Maybe, at some point, the two families could even play a soccer game against each other - wouldn't Papa Pitt love that!)
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 7 years since Dawson’s Creek went off the air, but with James Van Der Beek’s recent announcement that he’s going to become a dad, there’s no denying that the kids of fictional Capeside, Mass. are all grown up. After splitting from his former wife Heather Ann McComb in 2009, James, who played Dawson Leery from 1998 to 2003, met and began dating a business consultant named Kelly Brook in July of last year. According to LimeLife.com, James, an avid Twitter user who is now starring on the TV show Mercy, first announced the pregnancy to his fans with a message that stated, "Yes, it's true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child. Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed."
I try to divorce Michael at least once a month. I blame this on the PMDD, though I've also been diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety and, once, a psychopharmacologist told me I had obvious bipolar tendencies. After the PMDD diagnosis, I realized that switching to Yaz was sufficient for managing my wild mood swings. Then, I decided to have a baby.
Did anyone really believe that Kate Middleton was actually pregnant? Although Star Magazine recently reported that the royal family was in a "frantic scramble to keep [the] scandal secret," we didn't believe for one moment that "Waity Katie" would risk throwing away the chance at becoming Princess Diana 2.0 and all that entails by becoming pregnant out of wedlock. (Not to mention the fact that illegitimate children are rarely ever granted royal titles.) According to Star, "William was up at his military base in North Wales when Kate called him. She was sobbing so hard, she could hardly get the words out. She told him that despite their precautions, she is pregnant."
Congratulations to our favorite '90s angst rocker, Alanis Morissette! According to Us Magazine, the 36-year-old singer wed rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway in a private, super-secret ceremony in Los Angeles recently. "So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We're very excited to embark on this journey with each other.... sending love... connect soon xo - Alanis," she posted on her Twitter account.
Whether it's on the radio or in the news, we're always hearing about how the birth control pill decreases women's sexual desire. But what is the scientific process behind this, and is it natural?
I had a lot of sympathy for my wife when she was pregnant. And I proved it at the dinner table, at the lunch buffet and at Sunday brunch. I like to tell people that I gained sympathy weight during these times, though I suspect it was actually just "feeling justified to eat as much crap as I want" weight. But after we had our second kid, the time came to face the scales and take off the baby weight, together.
Is Khloe Khloe Kardashian following in her sister Kourtney’s footsteps and becoming a mom? After surprising everyone last fall by hastily marrying LA Lakers star Lamar Odom, whom she only had dated for a month, Khloe is, now, reportedly pregnant! Although a family friend close to the Kardashians is denying the news, according to RadarOnline, Khloe is 2 months pregnant and supposedly made the decision to become a mother after witnessing her nephew’s birth back in December.
It seems that Céline Dion's heart will not only go on and on, but it has room enough for two more kids. The Canadian singer and her husband/manager René Angelil confirmed to People Magazine that Céline, 42, is 14 weeks pregnant with twins after undergoing in-vitro.
When Brad Pitt declared that he and Angelina Jolie wanted a "soccer team" of kids (for the record, that would be 11), many assumed that he was just joking. But, it's looking more and more like Brad and Angelina are seriously trying to one-up the the Gosselins and 9 By Design families with their brood. Already, they have 6 children - 3 adopted ones (Maddox, Zahara, and Pax) and 3 biological tots (Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox) and, supposedly, Angelina has been desperately trying to conceive number 7. However, according to AllieisWired.com, the 35-year-old actress may be having infertility problems and has already suffered through one miscarriage earlier this year.
The latest issue of Star announces that John Travolta and Kelly Preston are having a baby—news that the Travoltas have confirmed on their official website with this statement: "It's impossible to keep a secret...especially one as wonderful as this. We are expecting a new addition to our family."
Talk about keeping your private life a secret. Former One Tree Hill actress Hilarie Burton, 27, and her TV actor beau Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 44, (who totally looks like Javier Bardem's long-lost twin brother) have not only been dating for a year, but they also pulled a Sandra Bullock and had a baby together, all without the tabloids finding out!
When you're the stay-at-home mother of an infant, you spend almost no time alone, and thinking goes out the window, unless you count anxious fretting over when to start solid foods and how to persuade the baby to go down for a nap. It's unclear to me now why I imagined this wouldn't be a difficult adjustment.
