We read the news today that Nevada County legalized male prostitution and in response the Shady Lady Ranch brothel hired an earnest young man. Our first thought: What woman in her right mind would pay for sex?
Nevada's de facto ban on man-hos has come to an end. Prostitution has been legal in the Silver State for nigh 40 years, but had not included men on account of a stipulation that all sex workers have regular STD-wary cervical examinations. The male anatomy, ever resplendent, sorely lacks a cervix, and the law had to be changed to accommodate men. But not everyone in the flesh industry is happy with brothel Bobbi Davis's efforts.
According to the Associated Press, 18 percent of the Florida Keys' residents have been part of failed marriages. Per census data, only Wayne County in Indiana has a higher percentage of divorcees (19 percent). While it makes sense that the Keys would have a high rate of divorced people (it's like a Carl Hiassen novel down there), no one can really put a finger on why Wayne County would have such a preponderance of divorcees. Not many people run away from shaky marriages to eastern Indiana. Nevada has the highest percentage of divorcees by state.
Nevada Senator John Ensign has admitted to infidelity. The second-term Republican Senator, whom many thought may be grooming himself for bigger things, had an affair with staffer Cynthia Hampton. While the affair ended nearly a year ago, there is much speculation as to why John Ensign made the admission. Some sources think blackmail may have been the reasoning and others think it may have been garden-variety guilt. This is another blow to the GOP's hopes of rebounding.
