Unfaithful women confess why they cheated and, of course, how it made them feel.
According to a new study cited in The New York Times, infidelity is on the rise. The study also concluded that young women are closing the gap on what has largely been thought of as bad behavior for men—apparently, nearly as many women are cheating on their partners and spouses. This did not surprise me in the slightest—a large number of women I know in my age group have cheated on boyfriends. So why do women cheat? What are the circumstances that led to their infidelity? And how did they feel about it in the aftermath? After the jump, 13 … Read More
The other woman shouldn't get all the blame for cheating.
Misleading headline? Perhaps. But I've been noticing more and more cheating these days. Just in the last month alone we've had the Jon and Kate Plus 8 fiasco, the Mel Gibson baby mama drama and the hurley burly surrounding Sean Penn and that girl from Star Wars. In fact, a study came out the other day that said people in committed relationships are involved in 100% of all cheating cases; the study was sponsored by the Human Fund (wait for it).
So, because these cheaty cheatersons aren't dancing with themselves (like Billy Idol) it's really easy to … Read More
Advice on how not to be, or date, an overlapper.
When I asked an old friend why she hadn't just broken up with her live-in boyfriend instead of beginning a messy affair with a married neighbor, she snapped, "Don't be stupid—nobody leaves a relationship without having another one in place."
Oh, please, I corrected her. Of course they do. People fall out of love or get angry and leave without a safety net all the time. But as I thought back, I realized that for as long as I knew her, she never had. Even when she pretty much hated the one she was with, she stuck it out until … Read More
Three CBS sit-coms in one prime-time featured karmic implications of one-night stands.
There was a pretty out-wait for it-standing episode of How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) on the television last evening (it was a rerun, episode # 58, Season 3, "The Bracket"). At any rate, Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris (NPH)) has a problem with a jilted lover busting up his game (not his chifarobe) and the gang sets out to find out who it is using an NCAA Tournament Bracket. As usual, hilarity ensues.
Although Barney doesn't learn the identity of this lady (that happens in episode #63, Season 3, "Everything Must Go"), he does eventually … Read More
Jessica Simpson spouts off to People about her love.
According to our homies over at The Frisky, Jessica Simpson just jinxed the bejesus out of her relationship with Tony Romo for referring to him as the love of her life in a forthcoming issue of People magazine, the magazine about people.
How jaded have we become that someone can't make bold "love of my life" claims without people crying death knell? Sure, karma (plus dharma and dogma) does have a way of punching us in the proverbial jejunum when we get a bit big for our britches but come on. She's a fragile, tiny, large-breasted flower … Read More
