A Sicilian man tries to got back to jail to escape fights with his wife.
Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. According to Reuters, a convict in Sicily decided he'd rather remain in prison than remain under house arrest with his wife.
The man, one Santo Gambino, was put in jail for illegally dumping toxic materials and, due to overcrowded prisons in the boot-shaped nation, was later released to house arrest. Unfortunately, being released from the pokey does not make one a free man. It didn't take Gambino long to trudge back to the police precinct and ask to be re-incarcerated. So many men, so little time to file divorce papers.
There's nothing wrong with being married five times. Just ask Elizabeth Taylor. Or Brigette Nielsen. Or, well, pretty much any middle-aged rock star. But between each walk down the aisle, we advise you to take some time out to do one little thing: divorce your previous spouse.
Emily Horne, a 30-year-old woman in the UK, didn't bother to, and has been in and out of police stations and courtrooms for years because of it. Most recently, she was given a ten-month suspended jail sentence by the Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
"She preyed upon and manipulated these men," Detective Constable Colette Kelleher, … Read More
Chris Brown may have an ulterior motive for his video apology; plus, Rihanna's surprise reaction.
While yesterday's highly-rehearsed video of Chris Brown suggests he's heartily sorrowful for his physical attack on Rihanna last February, there is an ulterior method to his remorse.
In the video Chris posted on his website yesterday (posted on Hollywood Life, among other sites), he said that he would have come forward sooner to apologize but his lawyer advised him not to. So just why would a lawyer counsel a superstar client to hold back his regret for almost six months? Indeed there's a big reason: Chris Brown will be formally sentenced … Read More
Judge speeds up papers, while rep says Amy is "healthy" and "ready to move on."
This morning a Family Court judge in London granted a preliminary stage of divorce that will be finalized in just six weeks to 25-year-old tortured soul singer Amy Winehouse and her jailhouse hubby Blake Fielder-Civil.
OK! reported this development that puts to rest a breakup saga that has occupied almost all of their two-year marriage, during most of which Blake was in jail. The couple wed in May 2007 in Miami, and a month later Amy admitted in an interview that when she was drinking, she sometimes acted violently toward her husband. In July 2008 from his … Read More
In Dubai, that's the law. This British couple found out the hard way.
The wisdom rings true yet again. Before you go anywhere abroad, and after you thumb through the spectacular brochures detailing your romantic getaway, make sure to familiarize yourself with a few of the country's basic laws. Otherwise, you may be in for a lot more than you bargained, and not in the adventure category you were imagining.
Last year, a British couple was sentenced to three months in jail in Dubai for having intimate relations on the beach (not the romantic ending they were hoping for) and just this week another couple was shipped off to jail for committing adultery, … Read More
Dating a prisoner might not be such a bad idea.
After checking out ConjugalHarmony.com, a mock online dating site feigning to connect prisoners with those on the outside, we gave the convict-dating phenomenon some closer inspection. The result? There are clearly a bunch of reaons not to date a man behind bars (enforced long-distance relationship, depression at his non-voter status in certain states... him being a CONVICT), but there are also some potential perks. Check them out.
1. If/when he gets out, he'll be an expert at doing laundry.
2. He'll likely have buff prison muscles.
3. He'll never leave his socks on the floor or the toothpaste uncapped.
4. … Read More
She's a lawyer. He's in the Aryan Brotherhood. And he's in jail.
For those who question the maxim, 'love conquers all,' the Los Angeles Times feature, "A Quarter-Century Marriage To A Man Behind Bars," by Joe Mozingo, is a must-read.
Meet Pamela Dowden and her husband, Robert Griffin. The couple married in Folsom State Prison, beneath a guard holding a .30-caliber rifle, after which, the bride drove off the prison grounds to spend her wedding night alone. The best man had recently been snagged by metal detectors hiding knives in his rectum; the groom, an inductee into the prison's racist Aryan Brotherhood gang, wed wearing jeans and a prison-issued … Read More
Blake Fielder-Civil is out of jail, in rehab and wants Amy Winehouse back.
Amy Winehouse's dude, Blake Fielder-Civil, is finally out of jail and ready to tear some sh*t up. Or possibly fly right. We forget if the point of English jail is to rehabilitate blokes or just punish them. Whatever the case, old dude has already ruffled some feathers.
Per FemaleFirst, Blake told this broad named Sophie Schandorff that he was getting out of jail early (good behavior?) and was checking himself into rehab (WE REFUSE TO MAKE THAT JOKE). Evidently, he did not tell Amy Winehouse the good news until later. Word is that she wants the … Read More
This week in wedding disasters, glass; stabbing; lightning and tasers.
Most weddings go off without a hitch; the bride wears white, couple says "I do," and everyone gets trashed at the reception. But not all weddings go as planned. Below, this week's wedding debacles...
Waiters and barkeeps beware! You may get a little more than a sloppy kiss from a happy bridesmaid at your next job. It must have been the bride and groom's violent love set off a guest at the a celebration in Edinburgh UK, where someone, (an unrequited love, perhaps?) attacked a … Read More
Why tap that ass when you can kick it instead?
I've heard of wedding parties getting arrested, but this story out of Pittsburgh takes the cake. Once the reception ended, newlyweds Dr. and Mrs. Wielechowski checked in to The Holiday Inn and proceeded to beat the living daylights out of each other. When two guests tried to break up the argument the newlyweds joined forces to attack them causing about $1000 worth of damage to the hotel in the process. The good samaritans were rewarded with cuts, bruises, a tooth knocked out and a possibly broken thumb. (Score! The groom's job as a … Read More
