Love lessons from "Always Hit On The Wingman," the new must-read from Glamour magazine's "Jake."
Every month, I always enjoy reading Jake's column in Glamour magazine. Since 1956, it's been penned by a slew of anonymous, single men who've helped countless women navigate the dating world by writing honestly and openly about the game of love from a man's perspective. One of the more recent Jakes has written a book, "Always Hit On The Wingman: And 9 Other Secret Rules For Getting The Love Life You Want."
From Glamour, the creator of Engagement Chicken, comes Love You Pancakes. Here's the recipe.
If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the ladies at Glamour must have men lined up around the block. Does Engagement Chicken ring a bell? We're willing to bet it's the most-used chicken recipe in the world: an editor at the magazine made it years ago for her boyfriend, who immediately dropped to his knees and proposed. Holding a candle for an unrequited love has its charms, says Ryan Dodge.
In the world of competitive pining, it's not an exaggeration to say that I'm a legend. My journey towards greatness began in elementary school, when I nursed a secret crush on the lovely Naomi for five long years, an All Saints School record that remains unbeaten. By the time I got to high school, I was so good at longing lunchroom glances that I was named captain of the varsity unrequited love squad. And I'm sure most of you know all about my Crysman-trophy winning college career. My years as a pro have been marked by great triumphs--the candle I held for a woman with a boyfriend is in the Pining Hall of Fame--but also monumental struggles. To be perfectly honest, it's hard to pine in New York City.
Confession: Sometimes I wonder what kind of girl I would be. Not in a pre-op, "call me Rhyanah" way—more like a "If I was a woman, I’d totally buy that dress" sorta thing. Everyone has those thoughts sometimes, right? What kind of guy would you be?
