Couple in a fight

How To Fight Fair With Your Partner

Learn how to strengthen your relationship by having less dramatic and more effective fights.

How we fight sometimes says more about us than how we got into a fight in the first place. Living a conflict-free life, especially with a loved one, sounds nice but in reality is impossible. Not only that, but it's unhealthy. Disagreements from time to time, if dealt with maturely and with the requisite kindness, can actually help to strengthen the bond between partners. And that's not simply due to the makeup sex phenomenon, a theme so commonly mimed in sitcoms and romantic comedies. Yes, fighting within a couple is normal. However, within each fight lies a potential minefield of insensitive comments and dirty tricks. Fights are only productive if done fairly. Here's a list of seven dos and seven don’ts to keep in mind when entering a tiff to make sure you’re fighting fairly. Following these rules could be the difference between making up and sleeping on the couch.

Most Romantic Movies of 2010

By Erika Mionis 2010 has been a big year for movies. Sequels like Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3 have ruled at the box office, while animated films like Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon have made their marks as well. Those aside, the year was also particularly crammed with many a chick flick. From romantic comedies (When in Rome, Knight and Day) to romantic dramas (Dear John, Remember Me), nearly all of the movies have had easily identifiable themes and laughs that we learned from and enjoyed.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go? How To Decide

Should you continue to hang in there or is it time to go?

No relationship is perfect one hundred percent of the time. So you have to ask yourself: What percentage of the time do I feel better as a result of this person being in my life, and what percentage of the time do I feel worse? If it’s 50/50, then, as they say in blackjack, it’s a push. Personally, I don’t want to be miserable 50 percent of the time.

Families at the Extremes Can Often Drive You to Extremes

My heart goes out to those who have married into extreme families and their dynamics. Now you're flying through self-help books and canvassing blogs to find out what to do.

Bore Or Lunatic: When Dating, Must You Choose?

A guy's perspective on drama as relationship kryptonite

If variety is the spice of life, then routine is the local anesthetic. At first, it dulls the pain of uncertainty. Then it dulls the pleasure of certainty. Routine begets boredom, and nothing—nothing—can kill a relationship in quite the way that boredom can.

Man More Complicated Than Previously Thought

It turns out that men do have nuance. Whoda thunk it?

You know that old chestnut about men being pretty simple? It turns out that it's not so true. They (men) like to eat, poop, sex, sleep and watch sporting events (in an ideal world, all at the same time). But not all men like all of those thing (or any for that matter). Go figs, right? Scouring the interwebs the last day or so, I've discovered that men can't be totally pigeon-holed into anything regarding preferences or even gender roles. It's a brave, new, scary world out there. Here are six myths about men that the web has recently dispelled: Men don't like cats. Cat's are not man's best friend. There's some psychic connection between women (particularly older women) and cats that men just don't get, right? Apparently not the case. Lost Plum runs through the scenarios in which a heterosexual dude may have come to own a cat.

Spencer and Heidi await their fate in the Lost Chamber

Heidi and Spencer Sent To 'Lost Chamber'

Speidi await their fate on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

It's been nothing but drama for Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag ever since they joined the cast of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. They left the show after feeling that they were the only real "celebrities" on the show and some confusion on Heidi's part about why there was no time set aside for working on her tan. Well, they decided it was probably best for their image to return to the show yet the rest of the cast needs to vote on their return. Ready for this? While the couple awaits their fate, they spent the night in the 'Lost Chamber.' While in the pitch black cave, they were tormented by the sound of an acorn being dragged by a fishing pole along the floor and the feel of wind being blown on their backs by a small tube. Paul Telegdy, NBC's executive vice president of alternative programming, said, "When we cut the lights we have them on infared cameras and all we can say is you see two sets of very terrified eyes, blinking, google-eyed, terror struck!" He went on to say that they were praying vigorously.
