Ted Kennedy was as notorious for his scandalous private life as he was for his career.
Ted Kennedy, the last of the living Kennedy brothers and renowned Massachusetts senator who held office as a Democrat since 1964, died Tuesday of brain cancer at the Kennedy estate in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
Formally named Edward Moore Kennedy, Ted was as known for his questionable private life as his political feats. YourTango's Celebrity Love has constructed a timeline of the scandals that went on behind Ted Kennedy's loosely-closed doors for five decades.
1958 - After a yearlong courtship, Ted Kennedy married beauty queen and college classmate Virginia Joan Bennett (known now as Joan … Read More
Michelle and Barack Obama: The 21st Century Kennedys?
BARACK OBAMA AND MICHELLE ROBINSON OBAMA Married Since : 1992 Family Album: Two daughters
They met in 1989, while he was still a student at Harvard Law School (where he was the first black president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review). Barack was interning for a Chicago law firm, and Michelle was his summer supervisor. She later told a reporter that she fell for him "for the same reason many other people respect him: his connection with people."
Throughout his political career, she has been an asset. A Princeton grad, she's a Chicago native from the city's South Side. That … Read More
Politics and relationships: One couple agreed to disagree—until this election cycle.
Karen and I always pointed out our divergent political views to friends and acquaintances. It was with distinct smugness that we noted how two intelligent people could have a healthy, successful relationship while respecting our differing stances. Even when we weren't asked how we did it (though sometimes we were), we'd volunteer our answer: "We agree to disagree."
I'm a social liberal, a product of my New England upbringing who thinks government can be run by professional Robin Hoods who redistribute wealth and carefully protect civil liberties. She is a fiscal conservative who thinks that the free market should … Read More
Who got laid during the Democratic Convention? Tango investigates.
The Democratic convention ended last night, so we thought we'd check in to see if conventioneers got nookie in the mile high city. And what better place to find out than the online repository of fantasy, c**k shots and misspellings: Craig's List Denver. Below, a sampling of political booty-hunters, a rating of their post, and our guess about the likelihood that they scored.

...in Denver? Does sex in the mile high city mean you've joined the club?
Last night was the start of the Democratic Convention. Did you watch it? What did you think of Kennedy's surprise appearance? And what about Michelle Obama's speech? (And her dress? Love Buzz knows some people who wished it were a little fancier and a little less "off-the-rack-at-Wal-Mart.")
But we have something more important to discuss than politics. With all the convention coverage we've been reading we noticed journalists referring to Denver as the "Mile High City." A quick trip to Wikipedia reveals that Denver is 5,278 feet elevation and a mile is (cue Mrs. Bond in 3rd grade) 5,280 feet--close … Read More
Gay rights aren't toys for pols to play with.
If Republican presidential candidate John McCain wants to energize his party, he'll have to pander to bigots and use gay rights as "wedge issues" to create divisiveness and friction among voters.
Does that suggestion make you see red, too? It's the advice of an editor at the conservative magazine The Weekly Standard who spoke on the show "Fox News Sunday" about the McCain campaign. The liberal web site Think Progress reports that executive editor Fred Barnes said McCain can appeal to more conservative voters by selling out LGBT folks.
"Here's what he needs to do!" Barnes trills:
He needs to touch … Read More
