date night
If more political couples were getting it on regularly, would the country be a better place?
This July 4th, perhaps the focus for Mr. and Mrs. Politician should be more on the fireworks happening between their sheets (or lack thereof) rather than the one’s overlooking the Washington Monument.
That’s right, this holiday, if you love your country then please shag your partner.
We know it’s hard. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Between fundraisers and photo ops and everything else that’s happened since you two tied the knot, the spark has surely fizzled.
But enough with the excuses! Ladies and Gentlemen of the State, husbands and wives to the politicos, please go get your groove on.

Time to examine your half-complete New Year's Resolutions.
The year is halfway over (really it's halfway over on the 2nd of July, but who gives a Fraggle*?) and you are desperately behind on your New Year's resolutions. Your swimwear body still makes you uncomfortable (it's OK, I think you're beautiful), you have yet to tackle the collected works of Dostoevsky (it's OK, Crime And Punishment kicked my ass too) and your kitchen has yet to remodel itself (it's OK, you're not going to be able to sell your place for a decent price in this economy anyway). Nonetheless, looking back at the grand idealism that is January … Read More
Michelle Pfeiffer plays a cougar from another era in this delightful film.
Overall Grade: B
Date Movie Grade: C
Girls' Night Grade: B+
Overview: Although Cheri, like its title character, does not reach the depth it strives for, it nonetheless is an enjoyable picture—for those who like the period piece genre.
Cheri takes place in France during the years leading up to World War I, a period known as the Belle Epoque, when people treasured beauty, wealth and decadence. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as an aging courtesan, Lea de Lonval, who is considered the most beautiful and desirable woman in her trade. A courtesan, explains a male narrator at the beginning of the film, … Read More
Barack and Michelle's recent outings make date nights relevant again.
Another week, another date night for the First Couple. Last week President Barack Obama took his wife Michelle out on the town. And by out, he flew the two of them (and a few security) to New York City. "On the town" included a limo ride to dinner and a stop on Broadway where they saw the play Joe Turner's Come and Gone.
This week the entire First Family was in Paris to commemorate, with the leaders of France, Britain and Canada, the 65th anniversary of D-Day. The Obama family had a private tour of Notre Dame Cathedral, where … Read More
We'll be damned if date night means venturing out in this cold. Factor in the crazy, package-laden shoppers, and our desire to depart drops to zero. The toastiest alternative to going out? Staying in. Bunker down with a cozy throw and a holiday flick that warms the soul (if not the toes!). Hot cocoa and a snuggly date are highly recommended. After all, he'll love being under the covers with you, and you'll love staying under cover! Check out YourTango's top holiday movies.
