The Mail Online thinks so, but we think they might be overreacting.
It's not that we don't understand the power of television commercials. In our younger years, we really did think that Love's Baby Soft smelled delicious and that Hungry Hungry Hippo was "hours of fun," all because advertising told us so.
And yet, we can't quite get on board with the Mail Online's latest anti-advertising diatribe. In it, they argue that there should be a ban on radio and TV commercials advertising condoms and abortion clinics. Why? Because such ads will make all the people who see them want to jump into bed with anyone they meet and have … Read More
NBC rejects suggestive PETA commercial as obscene.
Vegetarians behind People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) say their meat-free diets make their sex lives superior, but NBC will hear nothing of it. The network rejected PETA's racy "Veggie Love" Super Bowl commercial, saying it depicts a level of sexuality that exceeds their standards. (Was it the suggestion of asparagus penetration or the suggestive pumpkin licking?) Actually, NBC submitted a blush-worthy list of additional shots to be cut before the commercial is resubmitted. It included "touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli," "pumpkin from behind between legs," "rubbing … Read More

A former New York advertising exec is raising money with the hope of buying ad time to promote her search for a husband during this season's Super Bowl.
Amy Borkowsky, who lists her age as "somewhere between Carrie and Samantha," is looking for Mr. Right, and what better way to reach a large pool of potential mates than during the XY's must-see televised event? She's been campaigning on her website SuperBowlSingleGirl.com hoping to raise approximately $3 million for the ad spot. Borkowsky has so far raised a mere thousand dollars and only a few open commercial slots remain, … Read More
Valtrex, Jumper, Budweiser. You got mocked. Possibly goofed.
The dudes at BriTANick.com have decided to mock the Herpes commercial genre. Perhaps not mock maybe it's more of on homage or possibly even a pastiche. Enjoy!
OK, maybe it was more of an amalgamated parody of those Budweiser super powers commercials and the fake intimacy that the Valtrex commercials give us. Either way, it was better than the movie Jumper. All we know is that we've been to that space between jumps and it reminds us of watching a David Lynch movie filmed through a hotel door peephole while mainlining Afghani smack. Or, you know, not … Read More
