Write about your worst present ever and you could win a $5 Starbucks gift card.
I was 16 and on my Christmas list I had written: a necklace, earrings and the Mulan soundtrack. (Yes, I was awkward at 16.) Here is what I got: A CD player, the Mulan soundtrack and a Barbie. My mom told me it would be my last Barbie. My eye roll was so huge, it was almost audible. And despite the fact that I got a soap making kit when I was 15, that Barbie is the worst present I have ever recieved.
Writing about my husband is one thing; where do I draw the line with my kids?
Famed mommy blogger Heather Armstrong—better known as Dooce—recently wrote about the reasons behind the dwindling coverage of her older daughter on her blog. She mentioned that her daughter had been squeamish lately about getting her photo taken, and also wrote that she now asks for her daughter's permission before mentioning her on the blog. It brings to mind questions that have been swirling around the blogosphere for awhile now: Do parenting bloggers compromise their chidren's safety by revealing so much online? Is this type of blogging exploitative? How much is too much, and where should we draw the line?

The New Year is off to a bittersweet start for Neenah Pickett.

At her Web site 52 Weeks 2 Find Him, she chronicled her dozens of dates and introduction to online dating and social networking sites—her message being that finding the love of your life should take work.
"I did not put any effort into dating and went on two first dates in 14 years," she said of her past approach. "I thought, 'If I give all my effort like I do in my career and other areas of my life, will that make a difference?'"
What happens when a quarterback meets a blogging sensation?
Page Six and Gawker are concerned about the future of the Chicago Bears. It appears that noted New York blogger, Julia Allison was seen getting frisky with Bears' new quarterback Jay Cutler. You may remember Jay Cutler from his debacle involving the Denver Broncos. Julia Allison, on the other hand, you probably know from Twitter.
All the blogosphere was abuzz to discover that the rumors were true. A long-time commenter proposed to his favorite, bookmarked blogger; and, blogger accepted, reports Jan Hoffman for the New York Times. But don't be fooled. This was no casual, one-time-comment romance. It began some four years ago with a smattering of flirtatious e-mails on the part of a loyal reader and commenter named Meade who began hinting, in the comments section, about setting up a date with his favorite blogger.

This 24-year-old anonymous blogger makes "no claims to be an 'expert' in Human Sexuality," but hopefully one day she'll be teaching us all about it. "I think that I always was intrigued with the obscene, the controversial, and the unmentionable," she explains.
