Dallas Swingers Club Raided, Again

The Cherry Pit is again in Duncanville's bad graces.

e do not know why we're so obsessed with the trials and tribulations of the Cherry Pit but we are. Duncanville, a Dallas suburb, has about the best little swingers club in Texas. And the squares (as well as the fuzz) are not happy about it. The long line of static betwixt the Cherry Pit and the municipality has been largely cat-and-mouse games between 2 equally determined opponents since November '07. The city decided that parking was a problem for neighbors, so they banned the sex club. There was hemming and hawing over what the definition of a sex club was, exactly. Duncanville wrote out a series of things that define a sex club, which is not permitted in residential ares, so Cherry Pit owner/operator/fan Jim Trulock did what any red-blooded American would do: sue. The city, of course, countersued and on and on and on.

The Suburban Swingers Club

The Suburban Swingers Club

A sneak peek behind the scenes, beyond the sex.

The 1970s are over, but some things seem to be making a comeback: lava lamps, wallpaper, Donna Summer's concert tour and ... swingers. The fascination with "the lifestyle" (as swingers fondly call it) is seeping into suburban, upper-middle class social scenes. How can they actually step into this world? Determined to unravel the mystery, I got myself an invitation to a swingers club: a strange, sexual, and minimally sleezy bar unlike any other. For one night, I was told I would have access to the entire club and get introduced to women who could answer my overriding questions...

Swingers Sue Dallas Suburb Over Sex-Party Ban

An at-home sex club in suburban Dallas has been shut down. The city of Duncanville decries that it is a public nuisance and has outlawed live sex acts. And the swingers are, um, swinging back. They're suing the city for something or other. The patron of the club claims that the vagueness of the law is an attempt to codify morality. Anyone ever notice that most of these things are frequented by older, sometimes less attractive folks? No one would have a problem with these orgies if it was a bunch of good-looking young go-getters. Not aging dudes with ponytails just trying to 'live the dream.'

Texas Swingers Clubs Being Outlawed

The small town of Duncanville, Texas is back in the news. This Dallas suburb has been trying to rid themselves of the scourge that is private sex parties. They tried putting a limit on parking. And now they're saying that they're illegal for charging money. Swinging enthusiasts think that some conservatives are trying to legislate morality.
