The Bachelor Jake picks Vienna over Tenley. Plus: The Dancing With The Stars surprise.
Oh, we may have to agree with the immortal words of The Bachelor host Chris Harrison: last night was, indeed, the most dramatic rose ceremony yet. Drama, of course, is judged on a spectrum. Last night's The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love final rose ceremony wasn't as harrowing as, say, rescuing a victim of the Haitian earthquakes. It was more harrowing than, um, buying milk. Perhaps the best way to describe it was that true emotions seemed to erupt from two highly groomed people in a highly cultivated, stage setting. We witnessed two people who proclaimed—and we must take … Read More
The women told all, indeed! How to use their TV dating tips to help your real love life.
The Bachelor…On the Wings of Love…The Women Tell All is a very long title, and it was very long show. With two hours to kill, we saw how past contestants get drunk on Bachelor "reunion cruises," how they give back to charity, and—as host Chris Harrison kept saying—how exactly the "biggest TV scandal of 2010" went down, i.e. how contestant Rozlyn Papa got busy with a nameless producer (we're talking making out, probably with tongue) before both were kicked off the show.
So, yes, the women told all, Rozlyn denied everything, and who knows how many production assistants burnt their … Read More
Ali wants Jake back—but will he let her come to St. Lucia?
This week, bachelor Jake "I used to act under the name Jake Landrum" took his remaining three ladies—Tenley "like the number Ten," Gia "Swimsuit Model with Low Self-Esteem but Great Heels" and Vienna "Everyone Hates Me, Is It my Lazy Eye?"—to St. Lucia for the most amazing romantic getaway ever.
Monday's promos promised a shocking twist, with past contestant Ali calling Jake and saying she'd made a huge mistake. As you might remember, the San Francisco girl was issued an ultimatum by her employer: come back now or lose your job.
In a bizarre twist of Bachelor logic, Ali chose her … Read More
Say Rozlyn Papa WAS diddling the producer. What's the big deal?
Here's what we think about this supposed Bachelor "cheating" situation: talk about a double standard.
First things first: we aren't super-fans of The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise. While our DVR certainly has a soft spot for low-brow television, a parade of chiseled men and women vying to be "chosen" by a (often) dull suitor (whom they most likely wouldn't look at twice in ordinary life) doesn't tickle our fancy for entertainment. Especially when it tries to masquerade as true romance. While we know "reality TV" is a misnomer, something about the show is too contrived and inauthentic to be even be a guilty pleasure. … Read More
Lady in red Rozlyn Papas wears scarlet letter for producer fling.
You'll see it in Monday's episode of The Bachelor, but the hottest story surrounding this season of the show actually happened off-camera. We've learned what happened behind closed doors...and between one of the bachelorette contestants and a show producer.
We reported on Monday that while Bachelor star Jake Pavelka is supposed to be the only man of the hour, he faced some competition with one of the show's crew. Host Chris Harrison came forward early in the week to confirm that a show producer had gotten it on with one of the contestants, and after Monday night's premiere episode aired, more … Read More
And not from just one of Jake's ladies, but two. This is the beginning of a wonderful season.
Jake the Pilot is ABC's latest Bachelor. You may remember Jake from last year's The Bachelorette. Jillian eliminated him about halfway through the show, and he showed up toward the end to tell her that one of the remaining guys wasn't being truthful about having a girlfriend at home.
So you could say that Jake was "memorable," but a few of Jake's ladies this season are already becoming memorable for their own antics.
Let's talk about Tenley. Oh, boy. She cried. Because she kissed Jake. She was upset that he didn't kiss her. Overly sensitive much? She received the first kiss and … Read More
Mr. Nice Guy (aka, Jake Pavelka) gets the love he deserves by being the next Bachelor.
Oh, we saw it coming a million miles away. Commercial pilot Jake Pavelka has been crowned the latest Bachelor, as ABC announced on Tuesday night's Dancing With the Stars.
The 31-year-old Texan will pick and choose from dozens of hopeful ladies in The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love (gag!), which is set to air in January 2010.
You probably remember Jake. It's hard to forget his c@#k-block move against Wes, the obnoxious country singer. After Jake had been eliminated, he showed up at Jillian's door to warn her of Wes’s devious ways—namely, the fact that he came on the … Read More
