It’s that time of year again! Are you one of the women for whom the appearance of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue inspires shock and awe ... shock at your image in the mirror and awe for her beauty? Did cover model, Kate Upton, just up the standard for sexy, sensual and hot for you? It’s very hard to ignore how eagerly men await this annual jaw dropping exercise!! Where does that leave 99% of humanity?
Ever since I turned thirty I have had the irrational fear of waking up with a brand new tummy. I refer to this little fear as ‘my own personal Budda gut’. Long gone are the days when I could sip on a Slim Fast for two days and drop 10 pounds (jeez, I wish I was the weight I was when I thought I was fat!). Now that I am in my thirties, I have tried to adopt a healthier relationship with my body, and appreciate the curves that I have developed. I have also come to terms with the fact that maintaining my shape is a daily task, and loving my shape is a lifelong battle.
There is no one on this earth like me. According to Wikipedia, individuality or selfhood is the state or quality of being an individual; a person separate from other persons and possessing his or her own needs or goals. It means being self expressive and independent. Sounds pretty simple doesn’t it?
Valentine's Day is coming, like it does every year! A day that leaves some singles singin’ the blues while others go about their day pretending like it doesn’t even exist. It’s a day that some relish and others despise. All in all, Valentine’s Day sets the expectation that your relationship status defines who you are. I would encourage you to be mindful that you are not defined by your relationship status, it's certainly not your identity. As you read this article, I hope to impart a more open and positive way to embrace Valentine’s Day with grace and ease.
Everyday we have opportunities to bring in positive thoughts and messages about ourselves and our lives; We just have to learn how to be conscious and aware of these opportunities. In just a few days it will be Valentines Day. Thie day to celebrate being in a relationship, brood because you’re not, or stake your claim proudly as a member of SAD (Single Awareness Day)! I have to admit that some of those SAD parties I attended on Valentines Days’ past were so much more entertaining than the $200 dinners out with the one you love...no offense to my partner!
The New Year is an exciting time full of possibility. It is a time for change and new beginnings. It is often a time designated to evaluate one's current situation—both personally and professionally—and to make proclamations (resolutions) about how things can improve or grow.
"Is this as good as it gets? Is this what love really is? There has to be something I’m not doing right.” “I’m over 40 and too old for love. I never get a second date and besides, all the good ones are taken anyway.” And the list of debilitating dating discussions just goes on and on. Sounds pretty dismal, doesn’t it? Are you ready to dig deep and become more conscious? "Consciousness comes when we stop judging ourselves and others."
With the millions of dollars, we’ll spend on presents for others this year, how many will stop to unwrap one of the greatest gifts you have to share with the world- yourself. Yes, you! She’ll outgrow the sweater from Macy’s and the iPod will eventually get played out, but you’re the gift that keeps giving!

We all have a list of attractive celebs with whom we'd love to hit the sheets. These lists illustrate perfection in our eyes, the ones who, if we could have tailor-made mates, we would create to fulfill our wildest desires. But, that is not how the real world works. We like to fantasize about famous men falling for us regular women just as we are, but we know they won't. The celebrity male, such as Matt Damon or Kenny Chesney, who falls for one of the normal girls is rare, and even then, we question the likelihood of such a relationship lasting. I admit that, much as I would love to have a shot at my Hollywood dream men, they are not available for me. I have to be more realistic, even in my fantasies.
Life will always have its ups and downs. This is inevitable. And in this continuous change, in this unpredictability, life meets beauty in its entire dimension. Here is where I ask myself and I invite you to do the same: How am I dancing with life? Am I meeting life with a balanced and peaceful mind and an open heart, no matter what? Am I seeing that on my side of the fence the grass is pretty green too?

Real food grows on a plant (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, and seeds) or comes from an animal. Real food is nurtured by the sun. Real food is not processed, packaged, pasteurized or chemicalized. It has nothing is added to it, and nothing is taken away.
