Holidays are a time to gather, reflect, catch up with old friends and family members, celebrate traditions, create new rituals, or get away from it all. Are you the type of person to celebrate holidays and events? Most cultures have rituals that honor seasons or important passage times in ones life. In the US we are a melting pot and many people have slowly lost their original customs over the generations. It may be that your family could not get the right items to recreate the tradition or that they consciously gav
Spirituality has been linked to mental health by a number of studies including one from the University of Missouri. While this study focused on how spirituality was linked to individual mental health, increased spirituality also helps in the area of forgiveness in couples.
My maternal grandmother was a sweet woman. Everyone says that about their old grannies, I know, but I mean mine was after every sort of sweet candy, cake, cookie and pie (especially pie!) she could get her hands on. She was a sweet soul, too, don't get me wrong, but I loved the way she would allow us to have dessert first, and how when she went to Vegas with Grandpa she would head straight to the dessert buffets.
Even if you don't follow astrology at all, there are certain events in the sky that you just can't miss. Sunday, May 20 is one of those days. Both the New Moon and a Solar Eclipse are happening at the same time. I am an astrology fan and have consulted both quirky and quacky astrologers in my day and there are a couple of astrology websites that I follow. I don't read my horoscope every day but I do tune in when I have an important decision to make and knowing my Scorpio nature helps me manage my emotional energy for sure.
Is your dream for finding a soul mate still alive even though you haven't seen anything close to a great guy in years? Do you feel ready for love and even date some but its always the wrong kind of man? Is there an ex in your past who still rattles you when you think of him? I know you have seen your share of drama and you are doing your best to put the past behind you but why can't you meet your perfect match? Ever wonder how guys look at Rapunzel?
I remember my single days and struggling with how LONG it was taking to find my One. I was doing everything I had been told to do by the soulmate books I was reading: I had a long “soulmate list” that was very clear of who my soulmate was, I had a soulmate “vision binder” (I had put pictures of happy couples, etc in a binder, like a vision board), I was getting out there, going on blind dates, you name it, I was doing it. But nothing was happening.
The Morning After For many of my readers today is the Morning After Christmas. The day when all the hoopla that has been the focus of attention is over. There is often a mixed feeling of relief and let down coming together all at once. Some cultures have addressed this issue by making a special Holiday to finish off the festivities. Boxing Day is the one I am familiar with, having been a part of an Irish family for many years in my first marriage.
If you like indulging in pagan rituals, the autumnal equinox as a symbol of the harvest, or digging into those urges to honor the real meaning of Halloween (to help spirits transition to the other side), then you are in for a treat. Instead of dancing around in feathers at a goddess retreat, for a true pagan holiday on October 31, perhaps you enjoy engaging in a more mundane pattern, like flossing your teeth, making the sign of the cross when you enter a church, or brushing your darling's hair before bed. Then again, maybe you like to revisit the "City of Lights" and speak French once a year while munching on a fresh baguette in a chic cafe. Yes, any way you like it, you enjoy rituals, and each season we can discover ritual-making opportunities for your sexuality, as well.
It's time to start feeling good in order to maintain a healthy state of mind that is attractive to love. In today's world, very little value is given to the feelings we experience on a daily basis. We are bombarded by images of war, starvation, natural disasters, the disappearance of species, melting icecaps, global warming...and I ask you, how much can any of us stand before we start shutting down emotionally to all this horror? Shutting down and living in denial wreaks havoc on our hearts, and that leads to romantic disconnect, for sure!
The full moon arrives here in NYC on Saturday, March 19th at 2:10 pm, and the Spring Equinox arrives the very next day on Sunday at 7:21 pm. The energies of the earth itself are shifting into the new season, but that's not all! In this Now long awaited, the energies from the heavenly realms are supporting a deep awakening in humankind, along with a connection between faeries and humans with pure hearts.
If the sexual revolution is valid and casual sex is fun and appropriate for some, why is there so much heartbreak? Why is it so hard to move on after a break up? Why can't some women just let go? It may not be fair, but women are truly "tied" to their sexual partners. It is inevitable....it is hard wired into your biology.
