It seems that India holds a special place in the hearts of lovebirds Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Not only did the British comedian pop the question to his singer fiancée in India, but the two will get married there later this year as well, revealed their close friend and Katy's BFF, Rihanna.
When Matt Kemp first came on the scene, we weren't sure what to make of him. Is Rihanna repeating past mistakes? we asked. There were those rumors of an abusive past, after all. As time went by, however, we were more and more willing to see that rumor for what it really was — a rumor — and let the baseball star into our good graces. And with the latest reports, we can now say he's definitely earned the good boyfriend gold star.
Recently, Celeb Love called Rihanna's new beau, Matt Kemp, an "upgrade" from her abusive ex, Chris Brown. However, Star Magazine has dug up some details on Matt that might make us rethink that one. Less than two years ago, Matt's ex-girlfriend, actress Felisha Terrell, filed a restraining order against the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder, in which she claimed that he was a "violent" stalker who had threatened her.
Chris who?...Rihanna understandably has been pretty casual about dating since her turbulent relationship with singer Chris Brown came to a violent end early last year. (She's been linked to Justin Timberlake, Usher, and Tristan Wilds.) But Ri seems like she's finally ready to get serious with her new man, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp. The two are currently enjoying a romantic getaway in Cabo San Lucas, where they're putting on quite a lovey-dovey show for beachgoers.
Over the last ten years, we've watched our favorite celebs hook up, break up, break down, flip out, and start over. With all of its love triangles, legal battles, family dramas, and political scandals, the "Naughties" certainly earned its wicked name!
One of the things we love most about Rihanna is her ability to save face in public by sticking to the real story. Addressing the scandal she faced after the Chris Brown incident (as if that weren't enough), Rihanna says that when nude photos of her were leaked online by an old flame earlier this year, "It was humiliating and it was embarrassing." Here's how Rihanna handled the worst part, which she says was "...my mom having to see that." Yikes!
This week Rihanna spoke at length for the first time about the abuse she suffered at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Here, five other celebrities who were victims of domestic abuse, and how they overcame the violence and made themselves healthy and successful.
Well, of course he does. D'uh. Even though he had told MTV that "there is nothing that could come out that's like, 'OK, this is something totally different than what we know," in regards to Rihanna's interview, now, after the fact, he has issued a statement asking for privacy:
"It can happen to anyone..." said the 21-year-old singer on Good Morning America in her first TV interview addressing last February's beating at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Skeptics who suggested that her speaking out was but for mere publicity and promotion of her new album should be silenced after watching. Heartbreakingly vulnerable, the pop star said that she waited until now to speak because she was ashamed:
As one of Glamour's Women of the Year, Rihanna is finally breaking her ten-month silence to discuss the abuse she suffered at the hands of former boyfriend Chris Brown. In a revealing interview, the pop star explains, "...I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day..." Rihanna also recently sat down with Diane Sawyer for a televised chat that will air tomorrow on Good Morning, America and Friday's edition of 20/20.
