What does it mean if a guy says he wants to hang out with you really badly but hasn't gotten back to you in over a week?

My guy friend and I went to see a movie last weekend, and we texted for hours two days after. He said he had a great time, thanked me for his birthday gift I gave him, and said we need to hang out soon. I texted him Friday afternoon to see what his weekend plans were, and he replied to my first text to say "Hey, what's up? I'm bored." But after that, there was nothing. It's like I'm completely invisible. And I know his cell phone didn't die because he was online on Facebook later that day and said nothing over IM. I have no idea what this guy is thinking. One day he says he wants to hang out with me all the time, the next I'm not even there. What gives.

I've been seeing and hearing about this same type of situation from a lot of other people- Mostly guys. These "guys" were expaining it to me, because I didn't understand any of it & why girls would put up with it. It seems to me, they like their female friends, all of them, but none too much. They're very casual relationships and the guys make no efforts. They like hanging out with all of them. It just depends on their mood that day which one they hang with. It seemed pretty rude and obnoxious to me, and I certainly wouldn't put up with it. If the definition of "hanging out" includes hugging and kissing, how many girls is he just hanging out with?

I hear ya girl. I am in a similar situation with my guy. We aren't together but are dating. The only difference is that he txs me mostly all the time but his problem is replying to them. He takes hrs maybe even a whole day to get back to me. I hate that they do that i can't seem to understand why.
