Should I forgive him?

Published on November 28, 2013 by vulture17

We've been together for 8 months. Before he met me he was in an awkward relationship with a girl he used to date. Awkward as in they still had sex but were not in a relationship. When we started to see each other I told him I was uncomfortable with him even talking to her, so he didn't.

My problem, I found out he cheated on me with her while I was having surgery. They thought I may have cancer. He says he was drunk and she started to go down on him. He stopped her and asked her to leave.

My intuition was telling me something was up, so I asked. He said nothing was going on between them so I dropped it. A week later I had a terrible feeling so I looked at his texts. I was right.

He admitted and told me the story of what happened. He says he still loves me and it will never happen again, he's sorry.. Ect.

In my mind, he made his decision and now must live with the consequences. He cheated on you so you have two options: forgive him or move on with your life. If it was me, I would move on because he doesn't have the moral and ethical acumen to stand by you in your darkest time: cancer. A person who truly loves you would never do that. It's your choice to make. Just remember you have to live with your decision.
