How do I keep my teen LDR strong?

Published on June 15, 2009 by alex_1222

Well, I am 15 and he is 17. We have been dating for about a year now, and I really do feel like he is the one for me. But, we can't see eachother for atleast a year. We also have never met. He is my best friends cousin. We webcam, text, and email all the time. The distance is just getting really difficult, and I don't know what to do. Advice, please.

pen pals are aways good, but realizing that the person is older and may have more responsible life lessons coming his way sooner than later, you should expect some sort of lapses in communication throughout this next year. Get into a church youth group, temper your conduct online. Outside of getting your parents permission to send love E-cards and teenage love texts, be aware that males are likely to ask for explicit pics and may want to engage in nude web camming. Be a young lady at all times and respect yourself. if you get brief absences because you fail to continue feeding into his demands, you will get the silent treatment because he is tryin to wait you out. All of this is addictive for teens and can be overwhelming since you may not be emotionally mature for this cyber realtionship. Young lady take your time, cherish your youth and dont try to learn too much all too soon. you will have a huge disappointment a year later if your moving at this rate ,for long distance relationship with adults are more difficult. Teens mood change, as do your perceived appeal to him as his may change with you. cherish the friendship/pen pals and dont lose your integrity online with all the other silly teen infatuations, it all will past and next year you'll have another dilemma, believe me. In the mean time you should google the word "courting" which is different than dating. Which involves adult supervision when having young males in your presence to keep both your intentions noble, clean and honest. Its like chaperones and having group dates with friends or others around because of the age difference
