How do I deal with the question of why?

Published on September 2, 2010 by klynno

I had been dating someone for 6 months. It was a long distance relationship but we communicated nearly everyday however about 3 and half weeks he stopped communicating and would not return phone calls, texts, or emails. Of course I got worried so I had my friend call to see if he was all right and he said he was fine but would not go into further detail. I'm having trouble understanding why this happened, what is good way to get past this?

He sounds like he's just immature and didn't have the guts to end the relationship in a mature way. It would be nice if you could discuss what happened and have some closure, so wait and see if he contacts you. The more you reach out to him, the more it may push him away. Good luck!

I agree with Kristin on this. It's easy to disappear in a long distance relationship. It would have been more mature of him to be honest with you, but we can't control how other people behave, only how we do and how we respond to others.

You have no real choice but to try and be calm and move on. If you ever hear back from him, hopefully he'll have an explanation but there's no real excuse for his behavior.
