How can I keep intimacy in a relationship when illness takes place?

Published on October 8, 2010 by brittanix

My boyfriend just got diagnosed with Mononucleosis, or "the kissing disease". For six weeks we will not be able to kiss or be intimate. I was wondering if there was any advice on how we can show that we care and still be intimate in other ways? We hug, but I fear that after a while that won't be enough. I also fear we may get used to not being intimate and become detached.
