Do you believe in treating heartbreak-related depression as a separate diagnosis/treatment?
I question whether separating any kind of loss--from romantic heartbreak to heartbreak from the loss of a loved one, job, etc., is realistic.
Isn't all loss part of the broad umbrella of grief counseling?Further, doesn't loss overlap with other issues, including anxiety, anger, etc.?
Finally, aren't there life-management tools universally applicable to a wide range of psychological issues? Why not focus on building those tools?
Or, is Alexa Ray Joel's statement on raising awareness of 'heartbreak-related depression' a pertinent goal?
