How to get to know a girl without being called a creeper?

I’m in college and there is a girl I would love to get to know better, don’t know her romantic situation, and we have no common activities or classes together save for the fact that she lives in the same building on the other side. We had one small chat before and I was thinking of just dropping by to her room and talking to her again, but I don't want to seem like a creep.

What do you both think? How should I start the conversation? I assume no pretense, but what do I know. If it's too forward, I would appreciate any other constructive suggestions.

Hmmm...how not to creep a girl out? Well for starters don't creep up on her in a dark alley, unless of course you are spider-man and she is being attacked by thugs, in which case its totally allowed.

Seriously though, just be honest and be yourself. We can usually see through pick up lines, they only work unless we think they are really cute (and that doesn't usually happen, unless we are already interested in you).

As far as ideas to get to know her, I can think of two.

1. Tell her you think she is (hot, cool, interesting, or insert other preferred adjective here) and ask if she would like to meet you for coffee or something because you would like to get to know her better. I know this seems a little daunting and direct but, it is the quickest way to find out if she is seeing someone and if she is interested in you.

2. You live in the same building and I would assume you both wear clothes, so keep a basket of laundry ready to wash and keep tabs on the laundry room. If she is doing laundry that is a great place to strike up a conversation, because you have to wait while they wash and dry. Even if she goes to her room between she has to come back for her clothes. This may take a while, but it is a better option if you are not as assertive.

Hope this helps!
