What makes a guy unable to get over a hook-up?

I dated a guy I worked with and we ended up hooking up. I broke things off because I knew he wasn't looking for a real relationship. But months have passed and whenever he seess me at work he insists on talking to me even when I ignore completely. He'll sit with me at lunch if we have break at the same time, though I'm reading a book, or he'll run to catch up to me to say, "hey."

That's odd. It actually sounds like you are the one not looking for "a real relationship", not him. He could either be really interested in having a relationship with you or he could just be interested in landing a FWB. It's hard to say, but if you aren't interested in either of those, which it sounds like you aren't, just continue to discourage him.
