Birthday coming... need a good idea...
So, my guy's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get him. Since I got laid off, I'm no longer experiencing the wonderful flow of cash that I was before, but I want to get him something. I send him cards monthly, he gets massages whenever he asks, and He's not huge on sweets or my style of southern cooking (darn Californians). He has everything, and if he doesn't have it, he's pre-ordered it because it hasn't come out yet. He's a man of function, so he's not into "useless" things that just sit around collecting dust, and I know if I ask he'll tell me "don't worry about it" or something like that. He doesn't wear ties, has a nice wallet, doesn't drink, and basically has every thing I would ever think of to get a man for his birthday. I'd gladly accept any help from anyone, I have less than a fortnight to find something appropriate.

Although I have never seen a stuffed animal at his house, I'm going to go build a bear for him! It's fun, useless, and willonly serve as a reminder that I think he's cuddly...
Time is always a great gift. Do you have someone who can watch your daughter while you go away with him somewhere? Or just spend a weekend in your place or his? Can you afford to go camping, assuming he would like it?
You write a lot, maybe something you write for him about your feelings for him. Something a little longer than a card. If you can do calligraphy, you can make it look nice. Or with the help of a computer, you might be able to add some nice photos, etc.
There are movie-making programs on some computers, You can turn some photos into a short movie with music and captions. Or you could make a joke newspaper on your computer. (I sound like a mom, don't I?)
