How can I tell him he's becoming too serious without hurting him?

This guy I like is starting to become too serious about liking me. He's taken it all the way to love when I only told him I liked him recently! I don't want to hurt him, but I'm afraid that he'll get even more hurt because he'll think I'm not committed as he is. I like him, but I want to still see other people? How can I tell him that without upsetting him too much?

Start the conversation with the positives first. Tell him how much you like him, how much you've enjoyed the time together. Be honest and encouraging. And then ease into the fact that you just aren't ready to dive in as deep as he has. Give your reasons for not being ready. If you do like this guy and see potential in the future, emphasize that point so you're not crushing his heart or making it seem like a rejection.
