A male friend wants to be more..

I am friends with this guy.. We know each other from high school but never spoke to each other. 5 years later we reconnect on myspace. We began IMing each other about life after high school and messaing lasted for about 2 months. We then began texting and that led to phone calls. I was very comfortable talking with him and never thought about being anything more then friends. He is in the military and is in another state. After talking for a few months he told me that he was coming back home for a visit and thought that we should meet up. Right before he came home he confused that he started having feelings for me that were more then friends. I didn't feel the same way. While in town he spent most of his time with me and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. My feelings for him have grown since he first confused his interests in me, but I am still apprehensive about being in a relationship with him because of the distance and not wantin to ruin the friendship. Does anyone have any suggestions?
