Hot for Home Depot. How can I get my guy to finish a project?

My guy loves to play "Mr. Fix It" but he never finishes a single project. It drives me crazy and is causing us to fight more than ever. We bought an old home so we could enjoy fixing it up together but at this rate, we'll be tearing up the floorboards just to beat one another.

Hi Savannah, I certainly don't have the silver bullet for a very common issue you bring up but I thought i would give it my best.

At the risk of sounding over-simplistic, the root of your issue sounds like a communication issue. If you have expressed to him your frustration over these unfulfilled tasks then we need to know what his response was. If you haven't expressed your frustration, what are you waiting on? It could be a case of him biting off more than he could chew or he maybe had a change of heart, but without hearing his side we can only guess.

Last but not least, if he's still on board with the original plan to fix it up, you may need to look it at like a negotiation. What is something that he enjoys or would find desirable if he completed a particular task? It may take some creativity, but if it works, it works.

Anyway, good luck with the communication.
