While I wasn't married, I've had quite a few relationships go this way. If you both are in agreement to this, why not? You know each other more intimately than anybody else on the face of the planet, at least I'm guessing. Once you get past the first few awkward hick-ups then you won't believe the fulfilling friendship you will have with each other because of what you have been through. You both just need to be honest with each other and yourselves through the process. There is no law set in stone that lovers can't be friends...some of my best friends are ex-lovers.
