Can I ask my husband to stop hanging out with his player friend?

My husband's best friend recently split from his wife. Ever since, he's been hanging out with my husband a lot more than he used to. I understand that you need your friends when you're going through this kind of thing. But I don't like how they spend their time together. This friend brings my husband to bars where singles are known to hook up, and to other places where I know there are inappropriate things going on. My husband insists he's just playing the wingman, but I'm starting to get worried (and irritated). Am I allowed to tell my husband to stop hanging out with this friend?

Yes. You can tell him to stop hanging out with his friend. I think it is better to trust your husband to do the right thing. That is, let him hang out with his friend and help him through this. Your job is to ask the right questions and ensure that your husband focuses on the job of helping his friend and not slipping into a bad situation with his friend. You mus trust him to do what is right.

Your husband's friend is on a high right now because he's trying something new. But that high will slowly fade and when it does, your husband will feel sorry for this single guy gone awry and be glad that he's got you. Why not use this fee time to try something new yourself?
