Survey: Most People Would Marry For Money
by Tom Miller

Gold Digger [1]

At a dinner party one night, a drunken Churchill asked an attractive woman whether she would sleep with him for a million pounds. “Maybe,” the woman said coyly. “Would you sleep with me for one pound?” Churchill then asked. “Of course not, what kind of woman do you think I am?” the woman responded indignantly. “Madam, we’ve already established what kind of woman you are,” said Churchill, “now we’re just negotiating the price.”

A study by a Connecticut wealth management firm showed that the average ‘price’ that people would marry for is $1.5 million. Two-thirds of the women and half of the men surveyed said they would marry for money. So, we’ve already determined what kind of people we are; now we’re just negotiating the price. And we’re surprised with how low that total is. You could be very comfortable with $1.5 million in net wealth (assets plus equity in home), but you would probably still have to work or just not have kids.

For whatever reason, this has been a really popular issue lately.
