We’ll be the first to say that dating [1] and interviewing are eerily similar. According to One News, [2] IT companies in New Zealand have modeled the hiring process after the ever-popular speed-dating [3] model (which they attribute to the U.S. Who knew?). Big-wigs set up tables and offered college seniors a chance to impress them—in two minutes. Both sides then filled out preference cards and waited for a “match.”
Two minutes? That’s kind of a lot of pressure. But I guess the resume fills in the info gaps. Maybe we should take a cue from the Kiwis and start bringing CVs on dates. Just a thought.
