Having known Indian marriages I can tell that while women must respect their husbands, men have to reciprocate as well.

When there's a problem in the marriage both families are involved, because no one wants to have an unhappy member in their family, and Indian elders are immensely respected. A man who mistreats his wife will be corrected by his own family, and as far as I know if the misbehavior continues, a divorce will be approved by both families.

This was a really amazing video :)
I believe in being friends first, so that the love can actually be real and understanding. Some people look for the sparkle of the being in love stage, that's why they keep on going from person to person... could be more about acceptance and enjoyment of what you have :)

To zeusbark;
They do have to obey their husbands as in many cultures... but as we try to overcome sexism, that wouldn't work for us... i'd rather go with equality.

My mom has gone to India several times, and she has talked to some people who have been in arranged marriages. She says that one of the reasons these marriages work is because in Indian culture the woman has to obey her husband. I don't know if this is true, but it certainly opens up some discussion.

That's not being disrespectful, you're just inputting you're opinion that's all and it's an agreeableness input.
