How do I deal with this?

Dear Lucia,

I wish I could have just get over these problems I've been dealing in my relationship with my boyfriend. We met online January this year. We started it all by being friends. He gave me few phone calls ever since and soon we found out that we grew fond of each other. So we started this relationship. It was going smooth the first few months. He's a real loving guy and I used to think that he's a well grown man who really wants this to be a serious relationship. We come from different cultures and live in 2 different countries in 2 different side of world. He lives in USA and I live here in Indonesia. He used to tell me that he's going to visit my country and hang out with me in person. But then he changed his mind when I got fired from my workplace, instead he offered me to come to the states and he told me that I could get a better job there. I considered this as an opportunity for both of us to improve our relationship since we havent met in person yet. But when I tried to talk about it to my parents, they give their disagreements on it and said that I should not do that. This is when all the problems started, I tried to talk about this to my boyfriend, and instead he told me to just leave and take this first step to come to the states. I know I just can't leave rightaway because I know how bad it will break my parents' heart. I'm trying to deal with my boyfriend about coming to my country, meet my parents and talk to them, but he seemed to never listen to this option. We are two people who fall in love but the miles drift us apart. What should I do? I cant think about breaking up, I do really love this guy and I just want to take the best way for us without hurting anybody's heart. Am I to hesitance to take this step? From the way he talk to me, I know breaking up will be unavoidable if there's no one willing to take the first time, and to think that it might happen hurts me really bad. Please, I really need your advice. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

Regards,

Dessi Waty
