Rush Limbaugh's Bold Remarks On Relationships & Marriage
Don't let someone like Rush Limbaugh ruin your relationship!
Limbaugh's derogatory remarks do nothing but kill relationships and marriages!

Not only is Rush Limbaugh way wrong on his comments about Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke but there's an even bigger problem that affects relationships and marriages everywhere when someone with a large audience or platform like Limbaugh makes derogatory comments about women like the ones he made recently. The Recipe For A Healthy, Passion-Filled Marriage

Yes, we should all be used to Rush Limbaugh by now. His inflammatory, outlandish remarks are of course his trademark and are created for hyperbole and ratings but in his March 1, 2012 rant, he cut to the heart of every woman's sexuality. The truth is that both men and women suffer because of it. As relationship coaches, we talk with a lot of women who have shut off their sexuality and their passion because of Limbaugh's glibly remarks in response to Sandra Fluke's testimony about contraception.

His argument is one of the oldest in the history of how women are portrayed. They are either prostitutes (sluts) or virgins and nothing in between. When women hear words like these said in a derogatory way, somewhere inside they make it wrong to open themselves to passion and love-making, even with a spouse they deeply love and care about. 4 Steps To Prove You've Really Changed

Historically there's been a double standard for men and women and Limbaugh has certainly perpetuated this by coming to the defense of Newt Gingrich when he asked his wife for an open marriage. While Limbaugh's incendiary words make good press, what he doesn't realize is that they actually kill relationships. Is it okay for men to sleep around while women get burned at the stake for fighting for birth control? What's wrong with that picture? Do I Have To Settle For Subpar Sex?

This is certainly not the way to create and keep loving relationships. In our relationship coaching work, we've done several surveys with our newsletter subscribers around the topic of keeping the spark alive. In these surveys, both women and men tell us that when women close themselves to passion and just "go through the motions" with their partner or spouse or worse yet, refuse any show of passion altogether, the relationship suffers and dies. From this research, we've learned that attitudes like Limbaugh's create shame and drive the passion, love and connection that both men and women so desperately want even further underground.
