Chris Brown Allegedly Assaults Rihanna

The singers missed the Grammys amid allegations of violence.

Talk about your SOS! If this story is true, this is no joke. Noticeably absent from last night’s Grammy awards were singers Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna. Both were scheduled to perform last night with Rihanna previously scheduled as the opening act. The singers pulled out of the awards show last night after Brown was arrested on allegations of violence.

Evidently a 911 call was issued for a disturbance after Clive Davis’ star-studded pre-Grammys party around 12.30am Sunday morning. A statement released by the LAPD said that Brown and his alleged victim "became involved in an argument. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker." Brown had evidently already left the scene, but a woman with 'visible injuries' - who has not been named - identified him as her assailant. Brown turned himself into police on Sunday evening and was taken into custody. The singer was charged with making criminal threats, after which he was released on $50,000 bail. Further charges may be forthcoming.

Was the woman in question Rihanna? An LAPD officer has stated: "The identity of the victim will not be released. Any victim who's involved in a domestic violence incident is entitled to confidentiality." Rihanna’s people have issued a statement that the singer was involved in a traffic mishap but was "fine."

Further details are forthcoming on this story but we here at YourTango are shocked and saddened by these allegations. We wish the woman involved all the protection and support she can possibly have and we hope the situation is resolved swiftly. If the allegations are true, we hope that justice is served. Disturbia indeed.

What Chris Brown did to Rihanna is unacceptable abuse! After his mother endured an abusive relationship, and he lived to see her pain, he turns around and does the exact same thing to a woman. Did he not learn anything? Does he believe that he is justified? Does he not know the extent to which he hurt, humiliated, dehumanized Rihanna. A man that touches a woman with the intent to hurt is no longer a man. Chris Brown is a f****d up man. His career is ruined. His love is gone. I hope he serves the maximum amount of time in prison.

Rumor has it that she gave him the Herpalicious. I wonder if she got it from Timberhot? If so, he may have grabbed it from Jessica Biel and her from Derek Jeter as explained by this diagram: Herp Diagram

My heart goes out to every woman who has had to endure such horrible pain.
Love is blind and sometimes doesn't let us see the obvious.

And a man that hits .....................is no more than a coward !............and far far from being a man at all.

Although I don't agree with a man hitting a woman, I have to have sympathy for him as well. He was only displaying what he learned from his father. He is a victim of domestic violence himself, he as a young child witnessed his mother being beaten and abused at the hands of his father. He hoped he would not fall in his father's footsteps but when emotions are high, he resulted to what he learned as a child.

I feel sorry for both parties involved in this situation. I pray for them both and I hope he seeks and gets the help he needs to stop this before it gets any further. I am keeping them both in my prayers. People shouldn't be so quick to judge someone, you don't know his past all you really know is what is put before you via the media. Everyone should pray for that young man. He was man enough to turn himself in and face what he did like a "real man".

I'm sure he feels bad enough for what he's done and is utterly remorseful and we, the public shouldn't condem him for that mistake. He is a very talented and intelligent young man.

Just pray.......
