Nadya Suleman, the mother of 14 who is famously known as Octomom, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Her financial problems are nothing new, though – in March, she admitted to running so low on cash, she opted to pose almost-nude for U.K.'s Closer magazine to the tune of $8,000.

Octomom Cackles On "The View" About More Children

Nadya "Octomom" Suleman recently appeared on The View to promote... herself? But of course! And while some say she is mad the way she carries on (ahem, Barabara, Whoopie), perhaps there is a method to it. After all, as the mother of fourteen, this woman has got to do or say something every once in a while to extend her fifteen minutes of fame. Babies got to eat! The latest crazy? Octuplet Mom Has Been Celibate For Eight Years

In what appears to be a counterintuitive bid to come across as a little less crazy, Nadya Suleman (a.k.a. Octo-Mom) has told the British tabloid The Sun that she has been celibate for the past eight years and that she plans to remain celibate for 18 more. Suleman, mother to 14 kids in seven years (including last month's world famous octuplets), has come under fire from the press, the public and her own mother in recent weeks for words and actions that many see as proof that she lacks critical thinking skills and/or sanity. Will this latest assertion clear her name?

Octuplet Mom Receives Threats

Nadya Suleman, newly made mother of 14 children, is a news story that won't quit. The Associated Press reports "Suleman has been supporting her six other children with $490 a month in food stamps and receives Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters that could total $2,379 a month." Her octuplets, who were born prematurely on January 26 and remain in the hospital, are racking up further expenses. The AP says the cost of raising 14 children as a single mother in California lies somewhere between $1.3 to $2.7 million. Taxpayers—perhaps those struggling to pay their own family's expenses in a recession—are angry.
