Why I Love (And Respect) Cougars

Is being called COUGAR or MILF always bad? We think COUGAR's a compliment...someone to be admired!

We have a StraightMaleFriend Facebook Group that gets pretty lively. So lively in fact, that I’m compelled to warn people when they join that they should expect their inboxes to get a serious workout from the fiery conversations that take place there. Cougars And MILFS: What Your Teens Think

When your kids' friends think you're hot, how does that make your teen feel?

Moms complain about what their teens wear and who they date. Well, I have news for you, hot mamas, your teens have some things that they'd like to say to you. Let's say you're a mother of a teen and you're on the dating scene. Your friends are calling you a cougar. A cougar, also known as a mountain lion or mountain cat, has come to be used in our current language to describe a woman who chases after younger men. Cougars (the animals) are known as "generalist predators" in that they will eat any and all of their prey.

Are We Finished With Cougars?

Google, Bill Lawrence and health problems could spell the end of the cougar era.

The day of the cougar had just arrived, and already it's on shaky legs… or at least undergoing an evolution. As you likely know, a cougar is a woman approaching her middle years who dates a man at least ten years her junior. Many people have found the term "cougar" offensive, and have cited an immensely unfair double standard as older dudes (with money) seem to have their pick of the litter when it comes to mates. And now, Bill Lawrence says Cougar Town may change titles, Google won't advertise with various cougar sites and some health issues have arisen with older women dating younger men.

Michael Douglas MILFed His Mother's Best Friends

Michael Douglas lost his virginity at 16 to two women twice his age.

In an upcoming interview with Elle magazine, the once-noted lothario Michael Douglas dishes about all the sex he had as a young whipper snapper. While completely avoiding all talk of his son's legal troubles and subsequent jail time, Douglas spends most of the interview fondly recalling the times he had enough stamina to hold down two ladies a night. He then goes on to drop a Mrs. Robinson bomb, admitting that two women nearly twice his sixteen years taught him everything thing he needed to know about women, two at a time or otherwise. "I was 16, they were 30..." and "friends of my mother's," says the now 65-year-old actor about the day he presumably was coerced into group sex with family friends.

What Should We Call Male 'Cougars'?

The term "cougar" needs a male equivalent. Manther? Dingo?

Ever since fortysomething Demi Moore started dating then-twentysomething Ashton Kutcher in 2003, the term "cougar" has grown to become one of the most popular reference points, and punchlines, in popular culture. But... you may ask yourself, what about the MEN?! It's time they get animal nicknames, too.
