Just because the show is over doesn't mean the drama is finished. In the lastest round of the Jon and Kate saga, Jon Gosselin wants to re-open his divorce settlement with ex-wife Kate Gosselin and sue her for custody of their children. Extra tells us Jon's argument is that Kate's role on Dancing With The Stars makes her "an absentee parent" and that she's now giving most of her parenting duties over to nannies. Kate's side says that the accusation is "downright offensive and outrageous." We agree. Is it possible that Jon's doing this because he's upset that Kate wants to move on to other men? Or was her dancing just that bad?
JON AND KATE
Can't a Tom Hardy-wearing, cigarette-smoking, schlubby reality star catch a break from all the bad press once in awhile? Not a chance. Jon Gosselin's descent into total despicability has been swift and pummeling—every day brings a new nasty revelation that his ill-equipped PR really can't spin. Most recently, Gosselin's former babysitter Stephanie Santoro revealed to RadarOnline that Jon hacked into Kate’s e-mails, text messages and online bank accounts, and set up forwards to his own accounts. Jon's camp fired back with some B.S. legal lingo about how he did not illegally invade Kate’s electronic privacy.
According to TMZ, a judge ordered Jon Gosselin to pay Kateback $180,000. "The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date," said John's lawyer.
Kate Gosselin is a beacon of civility. Hailey Glassman is yesterday's news. Michael Lohan is a champion of D-List privacy. Jon Gosselin is a good father. And Kate Major is the right person at the right time. YourTango has the scoop on the latest in the bizarre world of Jon and Kate Gosselin.
As Life & Style reports, Kate leaves every weekend so that soon-to-be ex-husband Jon can spend time with the kids. An arrangement that has, as the glossy put it, "forced [her] to do what any mother would dread: leave her own home—without her children."
People.com is reporting that Jon and Kate Gosselin have officially filed for divorce. This development comes as a surprise to absolutely no one. In case you haven't had a chance to read a blog or pick up a magazine in the past 7 weeks, the Gosselin's marriage has been unraveling in the public eye since rumors of Jon's affair with a 23-year-old teacher. Since then, the couple have spent vacations apart, visited divorce lawyers, and bemoaned the constant media attention being paid to their family.
Thee end is just around the corner for Jon and Kate Gosselin. Page Six is reporting that Jon and Kate are already talking to lawyers. In fact, the interview that Jon recently gave to People magazine to get his side of the story out there was apparently conducted from the offices of a high-powered divorce attorney in Manhattan. While the couple sorts out the details of what this will mean for them and the future of their eight kids, they're already living separate lives. Jon is at their home in Wernersville, Pa with their twin daughters while Kate is with the sextuplets in North Carolina.

Jon Gosselin might be moving out of the Kate plus eight's house. Is this a step towards divorce? According to Hollywire (via In Touch Weekly), "producers have begun looking for apartments that are camera-crew friendly so that Jon can move out." Thank goodness! What would the viewing public do if we didn't have access to Jon? What has ultimately come out is that their marriage is on the rocks and probably has been for a long time. And now it appears the duo is headed for a separation.
Close on the heels of that, Jon has been spotted with various female companions. While Kate plus their 8 have been on a 'working vacation' in North Carolina (with camera crews in tow of course; diligently photographing Kate and the kids frolicking on the beach), Jon was spotted on two occasions with female 'companions'. The first time was over Memorial Day weekend; and then this past weekend he was seen shopping it up in a New Jersey mall with two ladies.
Over the past few months, the tabloids have knocked themselves out trying to come up with new and elaborate details about the deteriorating marriage of Jon and Kate Gosselin, stars of TLC's top-rated reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8. Stories have included a "confirmation" from 23-year-old schoolteacher/homewrecker Deanna Hummel's brother/roommate that she's brought Jon back to their place for loud sex; allegations from various "sources" that Kate has been carrying on her own affair with bodyguard Steve Neild; and even assessments from body language experts about how Jon's demeanor on camera shows he's a "broken man" (as if we really needed an expert to tell us this). One story we haven't seen, however, is about the rich, valuable lessons we can take away from this whole Jon & Kate debacle. And yes, we know there are many— because if our grandmothers, nursery school teachers, and that weird inspirational office art in the conference room have taught us anything over the years, it's that we can always learn from our mistakes— no matter how disasterous they are. And so, without further ado, YourTango presents What We Can Learn About Love From Jon & Kate.
