Finally, an app created just for couples! Pair is a fun social-networking mobile app — think DrawSomething, Google Tasks, and Facebook for two — that lets couples stay connected 24/7.
"Does he call you less than when you first started dating?" "Does he make an effort to get to know you?" "When you think of him, do you smile or want to grab the vodka?" I'm being bombarded with questions about the guy I'm currently seeing — important ones that I should be answering honestly—but they're not coming from my best friend (or my mom, who's always been my own personal relationship guru).
If you have gay male friends, you've probably heard them mention Grindr at least once, if not a thousand times. For those of you not familiar with the app, it uses GPS technology to track other gay men in your vicinity available for "meetups." According to one of my single gay friends, this app has "revolutionized his dating life." Another calls it "a slutty hookup heaven." Soon, we'll be able to draw our own conclusions. This week, the company is launching a version of the app for heteros called Project Amicus.

iAugment is a Photoshop-style iPhone app that uses a 3D pic of your chest to show you how you'd look with bigger jigglies. iAugment allows you to view 17 different breast implant sizes—from "Blake Lively goes softcore" to "Sheyla Hershey circus boobs." (Just kidding, they're not really called that.) Created by plastic surgeon Elizabeth Kinsley from New Orleans, the iAugment app claims to help women decide if they really want a boob job.
Why conceal your little black book under the floorboards when you can tote it around on your iPhone? DateMate, which promises to simplify the complex and highly confusing world of dating, is a new iPhone app that records past dates, measures compatibility among partners and even tallies the number of times one has had sex.

Okay, this is just hilarious, and downright clever. Now that it's become clear that having the ability to contact anyone, anywhere and at anytime with the push of a teeny tiny "Send" button on our cell phones can lead to a few, ahem, embarrassing encounters and red-faced blunders, Apple has come up with an app...just for that. Its purpose is to keep us from dialing the numbers of exes, or even crushes, who we know, in the light of day, we should not be calling.
