Last week, an amendment passed in North Carolina banning marriage for same-sex couples. Some people decry this as short-sighted at best, and completely bigoted, hateful, stupid, dumb, and unfair in general. I am one of those people.
When President Obama publicly announced his support of gay marriage on May 9, there seemed to be little question: Obama has the gay vote locked down. Though, of course, not all gays care about gay marriage, nor will all gays be voting Democrat come November. Yes, gay Republicans do exist. Even in the blue states.
Reportedly, Bristol Palin received death wishes for her recent blog post about Obama's support for gay marriage. The 21-year-old plastic-surgery fiend took to her blog after the prez's announcement last week, accusing him of deferring to Sasha and Malia when making policy decisions.
Well, well, well — how the mighty have fallen! Or at least the semi-mighty. Just one day after President Obama voiced his support of same-sex marriage, Mitt Romney's dark past has come back to haunt him. Could this be a little karmic retaliation for opposing gay marriage, Mitt?

We all knew that President Barack Obama backed gay marriage in philosophy a long time ago. But in a historic announcement today, he finally came out and said he thinks same-sex marriage "should be legal," one day after North Carolina disappointingly passed Amendment 1, which says the state only recognizes marriage between a man and a woman.
