Every couple argues about money! It doesn’t matter if you’re raking in the cash or barely getting by. Money touches every decision you make as a couple—from the $5 cup of coffee to the $50,000 car. When the two of you don’t see eye-to-eye on how much to spend or how much to save, arguments can turn into ugly, toxic fights that leave both of you feeling hurt and angry. With money cited as the #1 cause of divorce in the U.S., dealing with money as a united team is critical to divorce-proof your marriage.
Our 5 Money Personalities, are a straightforward, insanely insightful way to understand how you and your partner view money.
We are The Money Couple, Scott & Bethany Palmer, love-and-money experts, authors, TV personalities, financial planners with over 40-years of combined experience, and most importantly wife, husband, and parents to our two sons.
You might recognize us from our ABC News Now “Money Couple Minute” segments, or our Money Couple Minute emails. You may have even picked up our new book, The 5 Money Personalities™: Speaking the Same Love and Money Language.
Make it Happen!
The Reason I Became A Helping Professional
We have been in the financial planning service world for over 40-years combined, and for years we used the same tools services offered by most financial planners. However, we saw an alarming amount of fights about money. The best financial plan helped build our clients’ assets, but it didn’t help build their marital Money Relationship.
We discovered that each person in the relationship views money differently, called their Money Personality, and these differences over money were ending relationships across the country. Our quest is to teach couples about The 5 Money Personalities, how to identify yours, communicate, and find balance in their relationship.
