About Suellen Fagin-Allen

I'm a musician-turned-lawyer-turned-counselor who's had a life-long interest in how people become who they are and why we behave the way we do.   Achieving a successful outcome in my own life coaching experience and realizing that I was looking for a way to help others get to the heart of long-standing thinking and behavior patterns that were causing them problems with communication, in relationships, at work and in the legal system propelled me to formally study counseling at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where I earned my MA in 2004. I became nationally certified that same year and attained licensure as a Florida mental health counselor three years later.   As I've gone through these experiences, I've learned a great deal about empathy, the importance of a strong bond between helper and client, and that caring and understanding trump expertise any day.   I consider my clients the experts on themselves and on their experiences - I merely observe, help and guide them in their process.  I can offer you a fresh perspective on your issues that may cause you to think differently, and some strategies that may help you act differently, in your relationships, your workplace, and in life in general.  Positive changes you make may, in turn, serve as catalysts for change by your partner, leading to greater relationship satisfaction for both of you. And, learning to live a more authentic, satisfying and joyful life is a goal that most anyone - in or out of a relationship - can relate to!  I'm interested in meeting you, learning about your personal and relationship experiences, and helping you decide how you'd like to change in order to meet your life challenges!
