'Tis The Season To Be Happily Single

The holiday season has officially begun and soon calendars will be filled with holiday parties and family gatherings. For a single person, even one who’s happily single, this season usually includes inquiries from well-meaning family and friends as to the nature of your relationship status. Does your single status have you dreading going home for the holidays? Don’t fret my pets! There are benefits that come along with being single during this time of year.

There are always perks to being single, but there are definite benefits to being single during the holiday season. How joyous would the car ride home be when you don’t have to spend it arguing with a significant other over who said something stupid to whom at the holiday party? Or how about the fact that you have more time to spend with your own family and friends rather than having to spend time with people out of obligation? If you are unattached during the holidays you can kiss anyone you want under the mistletoe and when the ball drops on New Year’s Eve. As a single person I can decorate any way I want, watch (or not watch) any holiday movie I want, pack and head off on a spontaneous adventure if I want and possibly meet a new love interest…or two! By not being involved in a relationship over the holidays you avoid having to deal with the baggage of your significant other and their family or friends. As a singleton you have the freedom to do what you want, when you want and with who you want during the holiday season.
