About Shoshana Bulow
I am a couples and family therapist with a subspecialty as a sex therapist. I received my BA from Columbia University, my MSW from Case Western Reserve University and my PhD from New York University. I am also certified as a couples and family therapist through the Ackerman Institute for the Family and as a sex therapist through the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). In addition to my private practice I have taught and supervised couples and family therapists at the Ackerman Institute, at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and at the Ferkauf Graduate School.
In my practice I see both individual and couples. My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic, where one theory or orientation does not fit all. My clients and I engage in a generative conversation that helps them explore and understand themselves better. I see psychotherapy is an interactive, collaborative process where theories and ideas are best used to inform the experience, rather than drive it.
I am looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas on yourtango and hope you will feel free to ask me questions!
