Who doesn't love a good multiple choice test?
Wasn't it always a relief - when the teacher would say that the exam was going to be 'multiple choice'?? It meant that all you had to do was read through the possible answers and pick the one that sounded the most 'right'. You were not required to actually generate and craft an answer on your own. The test had already done half the work for you! Speaking as a person who has always resented tests in general, the multiple choice test was the next best thing to NO test at all.

As a Life Coach, I have the privilege of listening to many different people talk about their lives. It is always exhilerating to hear them create plans to implement meaningful change.
One thing I hear quite a bit is that some people feel like they're coasting through their lives, living in choices that they don't remember making.
Have you been there?
Do you feel like you're getting up and going to work because that's what you did yesterday.
Or are you in a relationship that doesn't knock your socks off, but it's familiar and so you stay in it?
The food you eat, the schedule you keep, the people you surround yourself with - does all of it just seem......laid out for you.......as if it's what you're 'supposed' to be doing.....and yet you can't remember how things got this way?
It's like the multiple choice test. At some point, you picked the life that seemed like the 'right' one for you - without ever having to actually generate and craft the life you wanted for yourself.
Lately, I have been giving a great deal of thought to the idea of CHOICE. More and more I am realizing just how many choices I make throughout the course of a day - and how these choices all add up to create My Life.

The way I choose to say, "Good morning," to my husband, the food I then choose to eat for breakfast, the emails I choose to answer or not answer, walking to an appointment or taking a cab, bringing an umbrealla or leaving it at home, buying a new outfit or saving the money instead - all of these little choices add up to create the kind of day I will have. And when you string together all of my days, filled up with my moment-to-moment choices, the result is......My Life. I am having a very specific kind of life that is the result of each and every choice I have ever made.
When you really stop and think about it, your life looks exactly, precisely the way it looks right now, because of every single solitary choice you have ever made up until this point. Even if you don't remember choosing, or even if it felt like there WAS no actual choice.....I guarantee that there have been millions of mini-moments wherein you chose something. Going along with what your parents wanted you to do for a living is still a choice. Staying in your relationship because you're afraid of being single is still a choice. Even 'not choosing' anything is a choice!
