Being committed to commitment by itself will not maintain and grow a relationship. Being committed to lifetime emotional connection is the key to relationship growth and security. ~ Dr. Michael Regier

About Michael W. Regier, PhD

Dr. Michael Regier is a certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist. He teaches couples the big picture of attachment, helps them heal relationship injuries and  create new attachment bonds to promote healthy patterns of living and loving. Michael maintains a busy couples practice while supervising and teaching therapists and psychiatric residents.

As a therapist, writer and teacher I help couples find the love and security they need to live happy authentic lives.

Michael and his wife Paula co-authored and published Emotional Connection: The Story & Science of Preventing Conflict & Creating Lifetime Love. Paula writes the story of a couple in crisis and Michael narrates the therapy sessions and science that heals their relationship. Emotional Connection captivates, resonates and educates. It has been helpful for hundreds of couples to understand their relationship hurts and heartaches and find the path for healing and lifetime love.

Our passion and mission is to reach and teach individuals and couples how to get relationship right from the start. To that end, we are developing an online program teaching healthy attachment and the value and keys to emotional connection.

Power of Attachment

more

"I have yet to see a book explain the power of attachment in a way that draws the reader into the story of another. I couldn’t put it down. Few books take a reader into an experience where they can relate to and remember the information. This book accomplishes that." ~ Joshua Straub, Ph.D.Author, Safe House: How Emotional Safety is the Key to Raising Kids Who Live, Love, and Lead Well

Much Needed Message

"This special and unique combination of fiction and science offers a much-needed message about love and bonding. Written for the general public but also very informative to all couple therapists, the poignant love story of Ben and Claire will illuminate romantic connection for all that are lucky enough to read Emotional Connection." ~ Paul A. Aikin, Ph.D.

Preventing Emotional Distancing

"The book is a story from which every married couple can benefit. It tells a story of staying emotionally connected and preventing emotional distancing. It also tells a story of going through a love-crisis and coming out of it emotionally healthy, strong, and reconnected. Only then can a couple begin to live a life-long love affair together.more

The book is long overdue. Many marriages have struggled without the professional and personal insights of the Regiers." ~ Allan G. Hedberg, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
