Evelyn and I offer a unique perspective to the individuals and couples with whom we work. We are fully credentialed and thoroughly experienced therapists and marriage counselors who are also a married couple ourselves. In our own long and successful marriage we have worked through many of the same problems which trouble couples who come for help. This gives us a special advantage in helping partners learn a more marriage friendly way of solving issues that usually pull them apart.

We have written three books dealing with marriage and couple relationships:Are You Roommates or Soul Mates? The Marriage Spirit and Caring Couples. For twelve years we were contributing editors to the Ladies Home Journal magazine long running and highly popular column "Can This Marriage Be Saved?"

At the outset of working with a couple I, Paul, clarify that it is their relationship that is the "patient" and not either one of them. This sets the stage for the three of us to work together on getting their relationship healthy again. I will not allow you to blame, attack and make each other wrong. That is wasting good energy we need to understand how and why each of you contributes to patterns that cause distance between you. My therapy style is to be direct and interactive so you will get a lot of feedback and suggestions from me. I believe most relationships can be greatly improved with good marriage counseling and I urge you to try it. Your relationship deserves your best efforts to make it better.

I, Evelyn, also work with individuals who suffer with low self-esteem and who feel their voice is not heard. Gay and lesbian couples who struggle to have harmony in their relationships are a special area of my practice.

Both Paul and I hold doctorates from Yeshiva University in New York and have studied at the American Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis and the Alfred Adler Institute.

We were named Marriage Counselors of the Year by the Long Island Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. We have conducted marriage enrichment workshops throughout the country and appear as guests experts on marriage for many national media outlets.
