Communication Is Key
Couples need to communicate correctly in order to get along.

More often than not, it really does feel like men and women are from different planets. Women love to talk and share their feelings, while men prefer to think about things and solve their own problems. A women's brain is wired to use speech as a main form of expression, which can drive a man crazy when she is listing a series of problems, which helps clear her head and make her feel better that someone is listening. A man on the other hand, can enjoy a quiet drink after work mulling over his problems in his head.

Speech and language have specific areas on both sides of a woman's brain, which makes them great conversationalists. A woman can effortlessly speak 6,000 - 8,000 words per day. A man, on the other hand uses just 2,000 - 4,000 words.

More from YourTango: The Secret To Put The 'Juice' Back Into Your Relationship

Talking about day to day problems is how women cope with stress. Men find it frustrating when a woman wants to tell them all of their problems, because he feels that he needs to fix them. The solution is to tell your man that you just need to him to sit there for five minutes and listen while you tell him about your day and the problems that you are facing. Tell him that he does not need to say or do anything, that you just need a friendly ear, that takes the pressure off of him and you get to communicate and empty your head of everything from the day.
