Dear Lucky Bloke, I hear a lot about the female condom, but I am nervous to try it. Does it make strange sounds? Will my boyfriend be weirded out?  What are the advantages? Is it worth it? Signed, So Many Questions in Manhattan

The female condom gets a lot of flack. We get it. The concept is strange at first. But it offers so many benefits, we urge you to take a closer look:

The FC2 Female Condom offers an advantage for women who want to ensure protection from both pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted infection. The female condom is a strong, thin and flexible nitrile sheath inserted into the vagina (up to 4 hours) prior to sex.

Nitrile is a heat sensitive material (it warms up and adheres to the vaginal walls during sex) leading to a more natural, pleasurable feeling for both partners. (And while an earlier version of the female condom made crinkling sounds. The current version does not!) It has a flexible inner ring for easy insertion and is absolutely latex-free. While the female condom is pre-lubricated with a slick silicone-based lubricant, you may also add your favorite lubricant.

PRODUCT BENEFITS: the FC2 is the only NON-LATEX option that is available for couples, regardless of penis size. In fact, as there is no other LATEX FREE option for couples requiring SMALLER condoms, kudos to FC2 for providing a much needed solution.  The FC2 is also a fantastic option for men who have difficulty maintaining an erection when using condoms.  We hear that most men feel it's as close as you can get to having sex without a condom. All in all the Fc2 is a great condom to have in any woman's sexy arsenal.

There is a small (but easy) learning curve for proper insertion. We suggest that you insert one on your own prior to 'the big event'. This ensures that when the time comes to get it on, you're an expert!
